I had no idea what to expect from my first International Competition.
Well......it had a bit of everything!!
Thursday-
My mom, dad and me arrived at the hotel in Reading on Thursday dinnertime but we couldnt find the car park. Then we spotted Raj in his car and mom had a text from Isla saying 'follow us we're lost' so we spent the next 15 minutes driving round in circles.
We checked in and got settled. On the evening we went for a chinese meal and had a good laugh with Isla and Alex's grandparents. They were trying to educate me in different ways about babies - Isla is pregnant and i was asking a lot of questions.
Friday-
Spent all night being sick (Chinese wasn't a good idea) got to sleep at 7am.
Woke up at 1pm, went to training session, did 20 minutes, got taxi back to hotel, really felt miserable.
Sensei Peter gave me a big pep talk and I was ok again.
Great Friday evening with Sophie and my friends.
Saturday-
Practiced with Sensei Peter and then it was my first ever opening ceremony - it was great fun.
I was extremely disappointed with my individual result but making the finals in the pairs and team was great.
Sunday-
Finals ceremony then back to business. Gold in team followed by silver in pairs. I was so happy. Time for relaxing and having fun at the party. But not before another pep talk. (I really did feel like Rambo this time)
Monday-
Time to come home and say goodbye to my friends.
It was an absolutely awesome experience and i cant wait to do it again.
